please help me with my mojave

spider916 Jul 31, 2007 07:05 PM

I've looked at a lot of pictures online of mojaves and they all seem to darken with age. Most seem to darken as they age. I've had this guy since he was a baby and he is very light with lots of blushing. He's beige and tan, very light. Does anybody think that he may be something other than just a normal mojave?

I am no expert, But I have to say that is one good looking snake.

mojaves get dark or darken.
Some look very much like lessers and butters but are still mojaves.
You have a very nice light mojave.

Here is my Mojave cross.

If I did this right, the first pic is of a Cross animal, on the far left, the center tail is of an 05 Mojave Cross, and the far right is of an 06 Mojave Cross.

Second pic is Mojave Cross and normal Mojave sibling.

What is his Diet ? As it is command for retired breeders to be offered as EX. L. adult mice in F/T and often will cause Snakes to progressively lighten , it is do to a lack of L.Tyason and trace Copper . You can add a supplemental vitamin and if the color starts to come back you know what it was . This is just one possibility that I have found to be the problem more often than not as they don’t have to be X -breeders it can also be do to the diet the rodents were fed . i have owned him ever since he was a new hatchling. he was never fed mice. he started out on rat pinks and hacurrently eats f/t sm-med rats. he has been the same light color his whole life. he is a perfect animal and has bred a few females this year. so hopefully i will see if his color passes along.

I once thought the same of this female I hatched out last year, but have come to accept that she is just a normal mojave with more than average amount of blushing.
