snake "fingerprints"

mack1time Jul 31, 2007 09:42 PM

just wanted to show off a little project i'm working on.

I recently had 14 cornsnake babies and just want to illustrate how unique each actually is. I am planning on a collage similar to this comparing each head marking side by side. Just is gonna take alot of time and patience.

Enjoy!

The fourth one looks like a ghost or 'The Scream', very cool!

A friend of mine sketched head patterns of wild-caught Cal kings in a field near us. He found that by comparing the sketches to the snakes found the following year, some of the recaptured snakes were the same individuals of last year. Pretty cool observation.

Your analogy to fingerprints is not too much of a stretch.

That is a neat thing to do. If you wind up keeping any of them, you can go back and compare them to the adults to see if they change much, if at all (except getting bigger).

My wife hates clowns. She was looking at the head patterns of our corns and some online. She would say "that ones a clown face. That one is too. That one is an EVIL clown!" She said that If I was to ever start raising and selling them online, I needed to call the website "ECC --Evil Clown Corns"
