Hello. I was wondering if someone might explain the genetics of the white sided morph that occurs in kingsnakes ans well as ratsnakes and other colubrids I guess? Is it a simple recessive gene, or is there more to it? Thanks.

it is simple recessive ,unless your Rainer and pull one out of very thin air.Adding confirmation that Fl. Kings and Brooksi may be the carriers of the gene as the W/S often questioned by some as not being pure Fla.Chris...............
