if you are referring to his metabolism, yes I KNOW that's not what you meant, but seeing that you post here with regularity. I figured you know what I mean. I have over 50 snakes, interestingly, when the northern's or black's drop what has not been utilized by their digestive system, I can actually tell when I walk in the house, amazingly they are behind 3 closed doors and I can still tell. More so with the black pines I have noted. When I used to feed them chicks, they sometimes expelled the legs, now that is a fast metabolism, running right thru them lol..Thanks again for the compliment.

also here is a baby from my 2001 clutch, she's all grown up and laying eggs of her own for a very good friend of mine in Alabama. I live in New Jersey, and before anyone asks, Northern's are legal to keep in New Jersey as long as the proper permits are acquired, nothing special, just a 10 dollar hobbyist permit. FYI = from recent correspondence with F&G officials, they may change the laws so no Threatened species from NJ can be procured. The law states only endangered species at this time, they are however EXTREMEMLY strict about receipts that prove they where obtained legally and NOT field collected. For years people believed they where not legal to possess, I called them up over 10 years ago and inquired. They said it is ok under certain terms and mentioned that they do not advertise this much. So I have a decent colony that is permitted and if they change law, mine will be grand fathered just like any other animal on the permit that becomes protected or is reclassified as potentially dangerous.

Here is one of my Yellow Anaconda's that where grand fathered when they added them to the potentially dangerous list. They added both yellow and greens, saying it was more related to their typical "Agro" behavior more so then size.

They have not as this time added the larger species of Pythons, hopefully no one will give them a reason to reconsider the current laws in place.

Awesome looking northerns I'm gonna have to pick some of those up one of these days.
Yeah and black pine poop is gnarly especially after feeding chicks. I too can smell cage cleaning time right when i walk in the door.

'potentially dangerous'.....right.wait,what the hell isn't?how about the lesser-minded among us that are irresponsible with their pets-those folk whose foibles are the very reason these laws were made, and now the rights of the rest of us are curtailed....they scare me so much more than-oh,i don't know,a dendroaspis-and i've never even worked with elapids,lol...absurd,just ridiculous.and yes pines definitely have their own distinct, effective way of letting you know when it's time to clean a cage,lol.....nice northerns you got there
