Advice on Eggs

stevenxowens792 Aug 01, 2007 06:06 PM

Hey folks,

I have some eggs that are now on Day 66 and have not hatch.
Ratsnakes, next up should be Alterna and Black Kings.

The eggs are anywhere from 78.3 to 80.7 degrees. When should these hatch? I am getting nervous but I don't want to cut slits in these until the time is correct. These are good eggs, white and large.

Your help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Steve,

Just leave them alone. Make sure that they are well ventilated, and if they are in a medium such as perlite or vermiculite, don't have them embedded in it. Too much water absorbtion interferes with gas exchange, especially when the embryos are nearing or at term development. Be patient and you will no doubt find them pipping within 6-10 days.

Cheers,
Bob

You incubated them on the low side so it's going to be a few extra days.. If they look good I would just leave them alone!

I incubated at right about the same temps, and most are hatching at about 66-72 days.
