New kids on the block......

gray Aug 01, 2007 06:53 PM

I was fortunate to have a Red Group Jungle litter born 7-29-07 on day 105 POS. Seventeen large babies and one unfertilized. She began the breeding season at 11.2 lbs and her immediate post-birthing weight was 9.2 lbs. After a jumbo rat and some rehydration she may well be back to weight. This litter was a welcome sight in a slow year. My females definitely did not have "produce some eggs" on their to do list. However, Anika did a super job again this year. She produced my favorite litter last year (updated photos below) which was also Red Group Jungles. I used a different Jungle male this season so I'm excited about the possibility of producing Super Jungles with a double dose of Red Group. Not sure what I was thinking but I held back 2.1 from the 06 litter......wish I had gone with 1.2 instead. Nonetheless, I will be picking a special holdback male from the 07 litter to pair with my holdback female from 06.

I missed the birthing by about 10 minutes but I was still able to get some neat photos.

Congrats Gray,
As with last year, those are going to be some awesome jungles. I really like the comparison pictures you took, really shows the difference in a jungle vs normal.
Take care,
Steve Scroggs
