My Adult Irian Jaya Male

latin1956 Aug 01, 2007 08:28 PM

I was cleaning Cages, and he looked so light and all. I decided to take a few pictures. I will tell you this pictures do him no justice. He just shed a few days ago. I just recently found out he is VPI Blood Line. He is for the time being in a 32QT Iris Container in an Animal Plastic Rack. Very soon he will be in a new rack I got from Repti-Rack CB-70. I got the rack last week but the 2 side panels were cracked, so I have to wait for them to send me 2 new ones.

Enjoy and tell me what you think!!

Awsome! My male IJ has the same red, but is so much darker( pics in another post if interested) Anyway I was interested in keeping Irain Jaya's in racks to. I know you said your new rack is not up and running, but the success in keeping these pythons in racks is pretty good? It would definetly be a space safer for me to do it that way. Besides he spends more time in his sterilite hide box then moving around the cage. he like a jack in the box in that thing! lol well id appriciate so advice on this thanks.

I have kept all my snakes in racks! It's so much easier. Mine are in 32QT containers and I just want them to have more room. Yes racks to me are much better. Now if you want to display them then you would have to use a large tank.

Thomas,
You've got a real beauty there!

I keep my pair of Irian Jaya's in a couple of cages I got from Steve at Repti-Racks. I would LOVE to keep them all in racks, but the more arboreal species in particular make such excellent display animals!

I just picked up a 4' arboreal cage from Repti-Racks, too- can't wait to move my ever-growing bredli into his new digs!

With the exception of my babies, all of my larger snakes are in visions, but going forward, I'm going with Repti-Racks all the way.

Great cages, Steve is awesome to work with, and they just look REALLY sharp. I think they look more like a picture frame with a living work of art inside, as opposed to the visions, and do a GREAT job of holding the humidity/heat in.

Here are a couple shots of my IJ's in their Repti-Rack arboreal enclosures:

thanks I'll have to check that out! This is the male IJ I have note the total color differance between yours and mine. it's cool how different one python can look so different from another and still be the same species, aside from the gene morphs.

Todd,

Those are beautiful, nice coloration. If I had the room I would put mine up in setups to show them off.

Thanks Tom- I love 'em!

I just got my bredli moved into his new Repti-Racks 4' x 2' x 2' enclosure...

Don't have the acrylic perches setup yet, but you get the idea. These things are great!
