For fattiesnleos

Hi,

Thanks for the advice on my post "It's getting MUCH worse". For your question at the end...I honestly have no idea how he got impacted. He was just that way suddenly. I do think that it is the sand, and I have been giving him yogurt. As a matter of fact, I do think that he is over it at the moment, but I can never be too sure.

Again, thanks.

hello, i can hardly remember what i said, is he pooping at all? if he is it might be something totally different and not impactation. can you get some pictures of his stomach at all? anyhow im sure i said something about using vanilla ensure instead of yogurt, and i would maybe give him 1-3 drops of pedialyte a day. i know i splet pdialyte wrong but its the stuff you give babies when they are sick and have diareah which i also spelled wrong. the pedialyte will keep him hydrated better then water, i know its sounds weird but i have asked my biology teacher about it. i also talked to my horses trainer and thats what she said too, horses get impacted too but in in a different way but still similar enough. i had a female gecko whom appeared to be impacted but i knew she wasnt because i never kept her on sand. i took her to the vet and he said he would have to do surgery and we found out that her ovaries were infected and swollen so they had to be removed. anyhow after hand feeding her and surgery for like 2 months she finally started eating again on her own and now she looks beautifull! ive attached a picture of her scar. this is an old picture and she looks 100 times better now. she only weighed like 30grams then, now she weighs70! oh yeah, and shes an african fat tail gecko. the surgery cost $200 US dollars. darn, now that i look i gues i dont have the pic anymore, sorry.

haha, dont worry about the picure or the spelling. nobodys perfect, right? i actually think i can take sora to the vet for a free checkup, but im just worried about getting bad news, u know? he actually ate today, one cricket, but thats because i dont wanna give him too much anyway. he still hasnt passed anything, but i think he will. i have him on mineral oil daily, (did i spell that right? jeez....lol) and it seems to work. hes been dealing with this really good, im proud of him. i also got him a seperate feeding tank with no sand anywhere so maybe he wont get impacted anymore. thanks for the info!
