pinkies

Is it necessary to feed bearded dragons pinkies? My 12 year old finds it very sad and can't bring himself to do it. Our beardie is eating well and growing into a fine young boy. I want to make sure that he isn't missing anything by not feeding him these little things.

Nope there not nessasary. The real reason for pinkies is to fatten a dragon up or provide lots of fat for a gravid female. Sometimes i will give him 1 if i feel like it... But usally only 1s every 1-2 months for a treat. Or you can just not feed them pinkies at all. I know when the pinkie squeeks it is kinda obsetting.
