I just got a solid oak entertainment cabinet for the purpose of housing two lizards tanks in it. One is a 30 long and the other is a 30 gallon breeder tank. I want to put these on sliding shelves so that I can pull them at least partially out for feeding and maintenance.

Has anyone made sliding shelves in one of their lizard setups? I will have to find a way to remove the main TV shelf, which appears to be resting on two blocks of wood which are screwed into the sides. Then I could get oak shelves cut at Home Depot. I guess the sliding hardware I'd have to order online, who knows if Home Depot has such stuff.

The tanks have about 3" of ESU Lizard Litter substrate and about 7 pieces of picture jasper (the pieces of jasper are about 5 x 5 x5 on the average). I wonder how much weight this would represent.
