feeding frequency of an AFT

How often should i feed my juvenile fat tail? Im thinking every other day, but i dont know if it is too often or not enough.....

if its a juvi then feed every day i just put a bowl of about 5-8 in the bowl with some rep cal stuff then he can eat when he wants

I feed my babiess/juvies everyday until their around 3-4 months depending on how they develop size wize and then begin every otherday. every once in a while ill skip a day on the juvies.

I thought so too, recognize your great looking AFTs. Mine are doing great. they are huge for their age, already much bigger than than their father was. They have lost most of their coloring they had when young. kind of a dark burnt orange, not quite the browns of their parents though. I adore them they are my first ever hatchlings.

Yes the orange phase does take on a burnt orange look as they get older. Especially if they are not warm enough. Once I took mine out of the room where its constant 89 temp then put them in the tanks with the uth and some light they gradually got darker. They started to hang out on the cooler side of the tank. After they shed they look gorgious but then by the end of the week take on that burnt orange look again.
But your right. Not the brown of the parents thats for sure.
