Photo shoot test, dave would be proud...

FRoberts Aug 02, 2007 09:35 PM

I am trying to view all my FTP picture files, so please bare with me. These are photos of animals that I currently have, have had in the past, will be soon to acquire, or the result of a breeding lone and or venture I am or was involved in with a good friend, and also some snakes that passed thru my hands and into the hands of a few good friends.

Note a very large percentage of these animals are currently in my collection, some odd and ends I am somehow party too or was party too are pictured as well. Me, John, and Jim have been trading Herptiles for 20 years.

Oh, the pine snake with the eggs was produced by myself in 2001 and I sent Jim ( good friend that gave me the boas ) 1.2 and he grew them up and breed them.

The boa litter has nothing to do with me except for the fact that Jim sent me 2.2 from that litter. So I have decided to keep a pictorial record till adult hood, I love pictures that sequentially record the life of an animal up to and including death.

I have attempted to cull doubles but probably missed some.

maybe Bob can eyeball the post for me and tell me what's doubled.

Please Bob

Not currently in my collection but pictured below....

1. Both Brook's kings.

2. Regular Burmese eating chicken that looks to be a mop head. lol

3. Box Turtle, gave to my friend Jim.

4. Female Carpet ( soon to be addition )

5. 1.1 womas ( soon to be addition )

Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any Comments or questions are VERY WELCOME !!!!

I have 14 retics, and out of them all, I got two half way decent shots of them. Colors do not show well, prob best to do the photos outside under natural light with a real camera.

Well i have been keeping both them and retics since the 80's. One got popular and the other still misaligned by people.

i think personaly one of the best looking snakes out there they can compete with some of the morphs out there. the color and pattern is just awesome. and with the right handling from young age and cb animals they are fine i have seen a few pics now of ppl with large rocks and just fine. yeah large snake needs precaution but heck any snake you need to be carefull around i got tagged by a "tame" dumerils boa and they are known for being tame heck even the wild ones are tame lol.

For the next phase of your training, you must add captions to your pics so all can easily know what they are.

Great group of pics, tx for sharing!!!! Once you get a digi cam, watch out!!!!!!

hey frank that is one of the most amazing eastern box turtle i have ever seen .. too bad you gave it away i would liked to see more pics how old is it?

FRoberts Aug 03, 2007 03:05 PM

well I caught it in the late 80's early 90's, it was full grown then and it's still alive today. So who knows, it's pretty old though and still looks the same.

NJ has the best looking eastern box turtles in my opinion.

FRoberts Aug 03, 2007 07:37 PM

bred them from some neonates I gave him. He grew them up and proved a point that they can and will produce fertile offspring the first time they are bred, as long as you let them get bigger ( real adult size )and not try prematurely like most people. Then he was kind enough to give me all seven neonates from the clutch. I actually purchased them to prove that exact point. I had them for one day and my best friend came over and as soon as he seen them he said I want those. Here ya go bro!!!

I did mention the growing them to proper adult size and breeding them to get fertile offspring the first time they where bred.

I did not however expect or ask him to give me the entire clutch.

Now I will bred them into my lavender line and make out crossed progeny with another added anomaly.

The guy I got them from insisted all Lucy's in his experience never produce fertile offspring the first time they breed. I said that's CRAP, the reason is pre mature breeding attempts.

John proved the validity of my hypothesis.

The guy looked at me like he didn't believe me when I mentioned john's success, no problem, my friend and I know better, as a matter a fact he did not even hibernate them on top of it lol.

If everyone has not figured it out yet, poster of this thread is the "best friend" I am referring to....since Kindergarten lol...I have to say it

HE RULES....

also all those ball pythons I am posting are his snakes....as I already mentioned, figures all the pic's I take I end up liking one of those the best....picture wise....I am also fond of the Pixie......
