In the Austin Chronicle article from Sinclair...
According to Maj. David Sinclair, chief of wildlife enforcement, it may even reduce wardens' workloads: They are responsible for law enforcement in remote areas of the state, and roadside herpers can cause false alarms. "Whenever we get a call in the middle of the night that someone's out with a search light, we have to go out," Sinclair said.
In an interdepartmental email Whiteaker says:
contrary to Mr. Fork’s opinion, game wardens will check them even out on private ranches.
I can just hear them now "we need more Wardens to check on these snake hunters, they are all over the place on private land in the middle of the night"
Is it going to reduce the work-load, or are they just putting a nice spin on it for the general public?
They also suggest getting the general public involved in case we put up a good fight. Well I think that's a grand idea. I think we need the general public, the governor, the commissioners, some more legislators, and the attorney general looking into this and TPWD in detail.
