Personally, I don't think there is really any difference between Wipe-Out and any other safe to use with animals cleaner, such as novasan (or however its spelled)

I have tried the wipe out..for the size of the bottle, it won't last very long if I use it to clean the insides of my 5'x2'x2' cages...but it is ok to spot clean, since I use plastic table cloths for the substrate for my bearded dragon cage.

Truth to say, though, I am only using it because it was something i won in an auction. I will not buy it in the future. Not because I think its crap etc..I just don't think its any better than any other antibacterial cleaning product that doesn't use chlorine or ammonia as a disinfectant.

The blue hand wash stuff...I can't stand...but then again, I am very sensitive to that sort of stuff.

The Healthy Habitat you mentioned..never heard of it...at first I thought you meant a very clean cage vs a cleaning product...which didn't make much sense..till it dawned on me Healthy Habitat was another cleaning product.

For the most part, diluted novasan (I know this isn't quite the correct name for the product...but it is commonly used by vets to clean animal cages etc. You can ask your vet what he uses.) will do the same job if not better and in the long run, is much cheaper. $20 for a gallon jug, and I think you dilute something like 1 part novasan to 10 (or more) parts water..thus one gallon turns into 10 gallons...as opposed to a tiny 4.25 oz. bottle.

One other thing I have noticed (though it could just be me) is that the pumper thing keeps turning so if you are not careful, you can wind up spraying it all over the place and not just on the spot you are trying to disinfect.

I buy the Wipe Out 1 in the 32 oz. Professional size bottle and the sprayer is very good. Those little bottles wouldn't do one cage well for me.

ok..thanks for the advice...one more question...do ya'll actually use the special hand sanitizer for handling reptiles.. like I believe Wipe Out makes one.I do have 2 small children...is purel or one of those okay..or should I get the reptile kind. thanks ya'll!!

Any antibacterial hand soap or sanitizer is fine.

I use Healthy Habitat as a spot cleaner, not really as a total cage cleaner. Healthy Habitat is a natural and mild disinfectant and deodorant, but I use chlorine bleach or Nolvasan to disinfect when total cage cleaning. When I'm scooping the poo during the day, I'll hit that spot with a dash of Healthy Habitat or spray substrate in between cage cleanings to keep things fresh and sweet.
