Found him!!

fighterpilot Aug 03, 2007 01:56 PM

Well i knew she was under the house because i saw his snake tracks right over a plywood board covered in dirt. I set up traps and slept on it. This morning i had to help my flight instructor clean a plane. I got home and immediatly checked the traps with no luck. So then it hit me...if the tracks were on top of a board there is a good possiblitly he crawled underneath. So i lift it up and there he was. So now i need to look for a rack system that is heated and around like 500-600 dollars. Any ideas?

Congrats on finding the lost one!

Now I have no personal experience with any of the companies but have heard good things about all of them. Each has pros and cons and each have different prices and offerings.

I appreciate you posting the link, I had never seen those guys before. I like that pull out shelf that fits between the stacks. That tub divider might be useful for breeding introductions. Drive the male nuts for a couple of days, then pull out the divider!

Out of those racks...
What do you recommend for adult kingsnakes?

Expensive but the finest rack ever made no lousy welds or gaps like the other guys, works smooth as silk precision made. I’m a jeweler and have an eye for quality save your money and buy a rack that will last a lifetime. Tom.

WOW those racks are crazy expensive. One of the most important features is missing from these tubs and that is transparent tubs why on earth would you not use transparent tubs? You can’t monitor anything the snake is doing especially when breeding or if the snake cages need to be cleaned or needs the water re-filled. And I don’t like the Air holes at ALL you cant tell me that the snakes near the bottom of this rack is getting the same air quality at the top of the rack, of course you could drill or melt holes into the tubs but why to don’t do this for you at the price they are charging is beyond me. I wouldn’t buy that rack. Right now my top four in no order is, boaphilplastics, animal plastics, reptile basics, and herpscages I am still not sure if I will purchase one of the above pre-fabs or make my own. Trust me what ever I do I will write up a small review with pictures.

Hope this help and good luck!

Tom,

You don’t need to spend $1,000 for a perfect shed, very expensive racks in my opinion. I noticed they have semi clear tubs the site doesn’t show how easy it is to see inside of them unless you look under rodent breeding assuming these are the same tubs. Plus shipping looks like a huge hassle. Maybe they are worth the price but I honestly don’t see how, no mention of a life time warranty or any kind of warranty, what do they offer?

I would recommend Herp Enclosures, but I'm having a major hassle getting my order shipped. They're great racks, but the wait time sucks.

lytlesnake Aug 07, 2007 10:06 PM

Okay, I found out what's going on with my Herp Enclosures order. The owner called and said they've been having a major problem with their CNC Router machine. Nobody can figure out why the spindle keeps breaking. It's an expensive part and an expensive machine. The good news is that my baby rack is finished and they just need to cut the backs on the adult racks. They're going to pay for the air shipping too since I've been waiting for a while.

Anyway, I just wanted to update that since I know why the racks have been delayed now. These things happen, and I don't want to seem like I'm talking trash about anyone.

Not knowing what was going on with that order, I contacted Reptile Basics earlier to see about a back up plan. Rich from Reptile Basics was very helpful, so I would also also recommend them.
