Getting new dragons

theweinie Aug 03, 2007 05:53 PM

I am getting two new dragons from a guy who needs to get rid of them. They are a little over a year. One is male and one female. They have been living together their whole life. I know I should not leave them together. Will seperating them stress them out? I also have two other girls approx. 4 years old if I put the new female with them how long of a quarantine period should I keep the seperated for. When I get the two new additions I will take them to the vet to get checked out

If you're getting a m/f pair that has been living together their whole life you should leave them together. You will have more risk putting the female together with your females than leaving them together at this point.

Just be sure that you setup is well designed so that 2 dragons can bask without competition. My cages have 2 basking light for 2 equal basking areas but my m/f pair is always together peacefully under just one light. lol. And they didn't grow up together as the ones you are getting did.
