Thanks for help and replys. The info I gave was correct one is 15 pounds and one is 10 pds and both are over five feet. My picures were not good at all. Also these snakes are strong. I know the muscle tone is far to good on both of them. They were growed up slow. There solid... I think they would be ready in nov with steady feedings... Is two large rats a week enough??? The male is huge and tame he is a very nice kahl het purchased from the man himself. The girls came from r and r boas...
1.Okay with the vicious females I was wondering if I started to hold them would that be better for breeding? I have never held them except for cleaning. I these have been mean since I got them as babies.
2. I read somewhere that if you put a male skin in there with them they will act better come breeding time. Is that true?
thank you all

Go ahead and feed them as usaul but the 10lb. female I would feed her a bit more to help gain so more weight. Yes 2 per feeding is fine if she wants it. As far as handling them, I would if you can. It could help them not be so reactive when another snake crawls over or across them. Alot of people breed snakes that are not handlable. The snakes act a lot diffrent being handled by us humans verseus coming in contact with another snake. I haven't heard that about snake skins, so I can't comment on that one.

I have heard that if a male and female boa are put together, and the male isn't showing much interest in the female, sometimes putting the shed skin of another MALE boa into the cage with them will make the male a bit more competitive (from smelling the other male "competition", but not sure how well it works, and I'm not sure if it works the other way around.

As a experiment I might try it with a shedding. It couldnt hurt. I dunno if I will breed them this year now with my doubts. I wanted some snows though. Wish I would have purchased the anery het snow ed clark had months ago that was ready to breed. Maybe I can find some girls somewhere and hold off on these two. Since size is better. I might try depending on the outcome in nov. I will keep you updated with pics and thanks alot for your help..

for breeding this season. That one 15lb female would be a good Candidate to try this November. A nice 5 1/2 - 6ft female can be a great breeder. Your 10lb female I would just play it by ear.
