a hatchling!!!

fliptop Aug 03, 2007 08:44 PM

I peeked in my incubator to check on the eggs and was so happy to see a hatchling cruising around! A couple other eggs have slits, but most are still without. Check him (or her) out!

He's from the albino yellow mating with the white-sided yellow. Dig that orange belly!

And thanks for looking!

So I suppose two or three years from now there'll be albino whitesided Yellow Ratsnakes? Cool!

Let's hope!

So far four of the twelve are out, and the others are pipping, even the one I initially thought was bad (lesson learned: this twelfth egg was the next to the last one laid--that was a definite slug. Number 12 was smaller than the others with a large translucent window and some of the yellowish color the slug had. Kept it in the incubator and it's now pipping).

Sorry to ramble--I'm just a bit excited with this!

Oh that's all right, enthousiasm is a good thing. I've got a clutch of albino blotchless x whitesided Yellow Ratsnakes cooking, so I guess I'll be just as exited, if not more, when these are pipping. Man, the wait is killing me.
