UTH Question

donny039 Aug 04, 2007 04:13 PM

I am going to install a 16watt UTH on a 40 gallon L tank (36L x 18W x 12H). The tank is on a iron fish tank stand. What im wondering is if I should cut a piece of wood the size of the stand so that I can set the wood on the stand and then the tank on top of the wood .... I was just thinking this would hold a lot more heat since if I didnt use the wood a lot of the heat from the UTH would escape from underneath the tank.

Let me know, thanks!

The UTH is 12"x8" ... is this big enough for a 36"x18"x12" aquarium

I also have a 6"x4" UTH if so I could use both on the 1 aquarium but I would rather not do that if its not needed.

I have a ESU thermostat
