Shedding Questions?

MannyRottie Aug 05, 2007 05:55 PM

My little girl just started shedding and I noticed that a little of her face has shed and her neck area has also shed. It is not in one piece though. Will she have problems shedding the rest? Also when I handled her I noticed that she was trying to rub herself against my hand to try and shed the rest off. Is this normal and is she shedding normal? I sprayed her a bit with a water sprayer.

Your snake will be fine and it is normal for her to rub against something.
One of two reason this happens,
1. Not humid enough so the skin is dry and it flakes
2. She did not grow a whole lot since her last shed so the skin is thinner

Most likely it is number 1.
Either way your snake is fine, snakes do not always shed completely in the wild either and there is nobody there to help them.
