pumilus pics

I finally got around to taking some pics of my pair of Ginter produced pumilus! These are the most interesting pits, behavior wise, that I own. They are like little bolts of lightning, never ever strike or hiss, eat like a pit for sure, flattening out of the head, and today while I was trying to take pics the female pulled out the caudal lure routine! I would be interested in hearing if anyone else that keeps these (or if anyone has seen it in any other pit) has seen this before. The first is as good a pic as I could get (remember they are flightly!) and the second is the caudal lure. I didn't catch it in the full wave but you get the idea. The third is of the male. Enjoy!

Awesome! I would love to get a pair of those one day. How old/big are they?

They are one year old and smaller than my bull hatchlings from this year! Still eating pinkies! Just incredible!!!!!!

great pics. I am really digging your enthusiasm. It has saddened me over the years that such a cool Pit is mostly overlooked by collectors because "they look like san diegos". I have had some incubation issues this year and I fear that ultimately I will end up tossing out all the pumilus eggs. She laid an all time record of 11 eggs this year. As far as size goes my adults are from 1996 and are proabably not quite 30".

Enjoy your snake and hopefully others will take your lead and get into these guys. Ginter

Thank you John. Superficially they resemble San Diego's but like you have said, they are absolutely nothing like San Diego's. I am having a great time with them. Thanks for making them available. I hope to be able to do the same in a couple of years! Take care!
