Tim,
...When I used to breed Jungles and IJs the babies were always more interested in bigger mice. They can actually take a big adult mouse as their first meal though the chances of regurg are there with that big a meal. IMO the best thing to offer is mice that are big enough to run around. Reluctant feeders would also feed best if they were in a cage with structure they could climb on so that they would be up just above the mouse and could strike down from above to grab it.
Good luck,
Jeff

thanks jeff you da man. yeah i know they like bigger mice thats why i tried f/t fuzzies right away 1) i have them redily for my other snakes 2) the size lol i tried the pink mice and they were squirmin around the cage and one wanted to just couldnt quite do it. but ill toss some type of thing in there for them to "perch" on/ eat from. i dont know why that one slipped my mind i had to do that with one other carpet as a baby a few years back im the smart one lol.

Congrats on the good eaters you have. I have one of my Will Bird babies that will not switch to F/T, but at least it is eating live without problems. My wife drives right by a pet store that gets live feeders in on Thursdays, so picks one up on her way home from work. I am hoping to get it switched over the f/t soon.

trying f/k one time but leave them twitching and try on tongs and worst case scenario just lower the mouse until it is about to touch your rainbow on the nose and he'll bite it all right out of defense then instincts should take over

Thanks for the advice, as I will try that this week. I would like to get her switched to f/t, so I do not have to go to the pet store and pay so much for one mouse.

Then, I plan on getting several more 07 babies, so this issue will probably come up again.

Well, that's still undecided. I am working out a trade/purchase for other outcrossed hets but those are not born yet so can't really count on that just yet.

Definately keeping 1.2 and hoping to trade the others for additional outcrossed hets. May end up with a het male or two for sale when all is said and done.
