Maryland expo

fireballdragonz Aug 07, 2007 02:07 AM

Hello everyone I was wondering if anyone here has attended the Maryland reptile expo that is held at the Havre de Grace Community Center. If so is this a rather large one: I have been to the other two that Larry host one in Richmond and the second in Manassas. I am trying to make plans for the expos I will be attending and I haven’t herd much about the one in Maryland, so if has any info on it please share with me.
Thanks Jason

I have been to it a few times. It's small. I haven't been to the other ones you mentioned so I can't make a comparison. Maybe 30 vendors? The Mars show in Timonium, MD is coming up in Sept. and that is a large show.

What happens at expos? Just curious.

Yup, I'm becoming one of y'all! *evil laugh* lol

You see reptiles and talk to reptile people. You can buy animals and supplies if you want too.

I have not attended an expo in Richmond but I've been to the one in Manassas a few times. I've also been to the one in Harve De Grace and I was extremely disappointed. It drive about an hour and a half to get there. There were about 30 vendors there and only only 3 vendors selling Bearded Dragons. The expo in Manassas are way better than the one in Harve De Grace. I would go to the one in Timonium if I were you. This expo has at least 100 vendors and it's in a huge venue.

Don't waste you time going to Harve De Grace. I hope this helps

As a seller I'd consider the Havre De Grace show. There is a lot less competition. I never see high end really nice dragons there. Just random multi species breeders types. I've been there a few times and it gets an OK crowd for it's size. The Dachiu's go there sometimes but their kinda out of the selling at shows biz anymore it seems.

Hey Jason,
The Raleigh show is a great show. Not only do they have bearded dragon breeders, but other vendors as well. If you haven't already done so, you can log on to the info. tab located on kingsnake to see all the vendors. Also, you would need to pre-register as a vendor. I think it's pretty expensive to just rent one table. It almost doesn't pay to rent a table unless you're bringing some pretty awesome stock (which you would be) along with any other supplies, etc. that you could use to pull the customer in. I was thinking of visiting that show too...so come on down. I'd look forward to meeting you, and of course, Judson as well. Let me know if you decide to visit.

ahh teresa long time no talk. hey i ended up building my own melamines, but my dumb butt built em only 3 feet long, and the temps getting cool enough at the cool ends. oh well live and learn. i did buy a 5 stack 4 foot long cages from boamaster. well not from them but they built it, i got a good deal on it.

anyways, i think me and my fiance may try to get to the raleigh show on sept 2nd, sunday. hopefully i can get off work. will look for you there. and hopefully jason can make it as well.

Hello Teresa,
Thanks for the warm invite to the big city. You are very correct its 125.00 just for the table then 25.00 to hook up for the electricity. But if people are shopping for high-end stuff there then it would be worth the trip. The 2 expos here in Va people would rather spend 30.00 for a 3 week old sick norm baby then to spend 75.00 on a 10 week healthy high end dragon that still way under priced considering size and color. I have been to many shows here in VA selling norms and mixed breed babies and all the guys with the high-end dragons went home with maybe 2-3 sold.
So do people in NC shop for high-end lol 150.00 is a lot of money to spend if people are looking for norms.
Thanks jason
oh yeah do many people sell roaches there?
