Just sign up for an account, fill out the application, send in a test box, and wait for your waiver to be allowed to ship reptiles.

It's pretty much pointless to go through the hoops to get certified when you're not benefitting from it. Your packages aren't handled or delivered any differently than a box of books, and FedEx waives all liability in case of injury, death, or misdelivery -- and if one of those 3 things happens, YOU still have to pay the full shipping charge and are out an animal.

That's pretty much what i figured... thanks for the info
Please if you intend on shipping animals via fed ex please get certified. Without certification you are shipping against their policy and they can confiscate and/or refuse or delay your packages at any point during shipping. The procedure is relatively painless and trust me in the long run that certificate can save you a bit of heartache.
As an industry that is wrought with prejudices and regulations we shouldn't be encouraging ignoring the policies of the few companies that are willing to work with us. Everyday there are people fighting for us to be able to keep our animals and and fighting to legitimize this industry - lets try to act like an industry that deserves to be taken seriously.

JET Pythons
(CJBianco explaining the origins of the BP market.)
"In the beginning Bob created the Ball Python market. And the market was without morph, and wild traits were upon the industry. And Bob said, Let there be morph, and there was morph. And Bob saw the morph, that it was good; and Bob divided the morph from the wild trait. And Bob called the morph Albino, and the wild trait Normal. And the Albino and the Heterozygous Albino were the first investment.

Very well put Tosha, I could not agree with you more. Get the certification and be lagit. I ship my packages with a live reptile inside sticker and some simple info for the fed-ex driver and handlers. They may or may not follow the directions but atleast they know what it is and they may consider the content. Plus the package must be signed for. It will not get left on your pourch in the blazin sun or freezing cold.
