I NEED HELP

sir_eats_alot789 Aug 07, 2007 12:27 PM

I ordered a Helix thermostat but it won't be here until tomorrow (8/8/07), so I need to know a way to keep my temperatures under control because at one point the hot end was 100 degrees, so I immediately turned the light off. I wondered if it would be ok to be turning the lights on and off when needed for just today and part of tomorrow until the thermostat comes.
thanks
Jacob

Turn the light off! Your snake will be fine for 1 day without supp. heat! Just don't let it get below room temp.

Turn the light off and keep it off. If your ambient room temp. is between 76 and 80, it will be fine for a day or so.

It's not though, my house is cold...70 degrees tops. Since that is the case, can I just leave the under tank heat pad on without the light? If I do that, the cold end drops into the high 60's, 68/69. Is that ok?

That's fine!

You don't need a light, especially if you have a heat pad also. But lights are annoying and don't help much. They will also drdy out the tank and snakey. Snakey also doesn't need to bask in the open, and will prefer to sit under a hide, on top of a heatpad.

Ditch the light.
