I got a pair of Rhinos at the Daytona expo..More..

Randy Bush Aug 19, 2003 07:39 PM

I acquired a pair of juvenile rhino vipers at the Daytona expo.I would like to know is there some sites or literature I can get more detailed info on them? I know general husbandry of gaboons and rhinos and I have had venomous before so I don't need any ethics lectures, trust me! I have kept snakes for years.Just wondering if there is anymore detailed info out there? Thanks.

There is not much out there my friend...... They are pretty much like gaboons...... They just like it alittle more humid..... It took me years to find all the papers I have and there aint much...... I can give you the names of some authors...... Good luck in your search......

How much did you pay for your rhinos?
There was a breeder there who has written an excellent article on keeping and breeding rhinos. For only $3 more, you could have had your care sheet!
In fact I picked up a copy of the article at the show.
Remember the SHHS table in the lower room?
Karl and Cyndi Betz were selling old newsletters for $3 and there was an article on rhinos in their last newsletter. Matt Crews who had a table next to Glades Herp wrote it. They might have it electronically if you email them from the Southeastern Hot Herp Society home page. Or you could probably pick up a copy at the Carolina Show next month. Karl said they were definitely going to be in Columbia.

I paid $175 each for them.Kevin has had them since march and had detailed feeding records on them both.I know I could have gotten rhinos cheaper at the show but these were the best of the best! He had about 4 pairs and sold out the first day. This pair is incredible and just simply GLOWS with color! When I saw them I knew I had to have them but my money was at the Adam's Mark across the street so they held them while I RAN across the street and my wife stayed there. My wife said that 3 other people tried to buy them while I was gone. I figured since I spent over $5000 across the street I could at least give $350 for the best rhinos I have ever seen.I'm at work right now so I don't have the persons full name or business name.I can get it for anyone interested.I will try to post pics soon.
