NEVER THROW OUT AN EGG!

phiber_optikx Aug 07, 2007 06:05 PM

Yay! I can stop pulling my hair out! 2 little pippies so far and I believe that I saw one slit its egg slightly while I was watching. The light is dim and I didn't want to scare them. One hopped back into his eg but the other one (which I barely noticed because he had to burrow from under another egg) just sat and grinned at me. I still can't tell if they are amels or snows. They all are just showing me their chins so far! BTW is there any way to get amels from a snowXsnow? I am not sure who the father is. Either a snow or a butter. If it was the snow then they will all be snows. But if the butter is het anery which wouldn't be uncommon then I would get 1/2 snows 1/2 amels correct? Pics to come later! BTW the first to pip was the bad looking egg I asked about prior. It was dented in about 45% on top AND bottom for probably the last 3 weeks. I was concidering tossing it but it stayed white. Glad I held onto that one!

65 animals... and the number keeps growing!

If the father is the snow then ALL the babies will be snow.

If the father is butter not het anery then the babies will ALL be amel het aneryA het caramel

If the father is butter het anery then the babies will be:
1/2 snow het caramel
1/2 amel het anery het caramel

This all assumes that the eggs were all fertilized by a single male animal. I am not sure if snakes, as at least some mamals do, can have different eggs in the same clutch fertilized by sperm from different males.

If the clutch can have multiple fathers and both males mated her then you will potentially get a spread of unknown porportions consisting of:
?/? snow het caramel
?/? amel het anery het caramel
?/? snow

Hope this is helpfull

Sean.
