Sunday my grandchildren were visiting. Thought I would let them help clean Murphys snakarium(murphy is a albino paradox kenyon sand boa). Then Murphy got frisky so I figured Id feed him/her. When I bought the last pinkies they looked large, grey, and not all that good. Was all they had. Well we thawed one out about a 2 incher, Murphy constricted it imediately and started a jaw dislocaton and used his/her body to help force it down. We closed snakarium up to dark to let it digest and rest. Kids liked helping. Monday I was changing daily water and smelled the unmitakable rotting flesh odor. I quickly checked snake, ok and then being old and dont see to well without lots of light I missed the regurgitated cadaver of the pink. Closer exam, partialy digested, pink was almost a fuzz, and when I thoroughly thawed next one I discover bit of fuzz and pink was on way to the first stage of rigormortis. I had three supposed pinks left from that purchase and they looked the same. Took them back to store and they grudgingly gave me five fresh and good looking pinks. Point is be careful and look at you snakes feed, if it looks funny it is funny. Murph was laying besides the regurg and gasping. I dont want to see that again. Thought I would share this with old and new people on the herp trail. Go With God. Care for The Weak. hking1@neo.rr.com BLACKHAWK 44.
