Best Price for Crickets Sent to Florida

pgross8245 Aug 08, 2007 11:14 AM

I am moving to Florida this Saturday and when I called my regular cricket supplier, my crickets went from $16 per thousand to $34 per thousand to ship to Florida.
Any suggestions for a better price? Thanks.

Pam

Yea, find someone in that part of the country. For some reason, Fla. is very expensive to ship to, as with your experience, its nearly double for us to ship to fla. and New Jersey. Those two areas are the highest rates.

I would imagine, but I am not sure of, that if you had them shipped in from either fla cricket breeders(if any) or Georgia or La. I know theres some in those areas, you may get back to your original price.

My guess is, your currently using a west coast cricket company. I hope this gets you on the right track, cheers

I've been buying from Armstrongcrickets.com for the longest time. they are right above us in Georgia I believe. I think it only costs me something like 20 bucks per thousand.

I get my crickets from a breeder just a few miles away from us, maybe a 20 minute or less total drive. They are mainly sold as thousand boxes of adults intended for fishing bait, but we can call and ask him to specially pack a box of smaller sized crickets. All for $15. How handy is that?

I'm attempting to breed crickets now, so I'll see how that works out.

Cheers,
Ryan
