I always thought that if you breed a crimson corn to another crimson the offspring would all be crimsons.I peeked in on a clutch of crimson X crimson eggs and guess what was looking back at me,a miami?? Thanks in advance!! Jeff

This may not be a perfect response as I'm not one of the experts, but I would assume as all crimson are simply hypo miami that all offspring would also be hypo miami. If one looks miami it may be simply that it is one of the darker hypos of the clutch. Let me know if I am wrong!

Crimson is a hypo Miami, so hypo to hypo should give you all hypos.
If you got a Miami I would be led to beleive that one of the "crimsons" was actually just a very nice Miami and not homozygous hypo.
Ok, that being said....Are you sure the snake isn't hypo?
You might have a better idea after it sheds. It may well be a crimson.
got pics?

Is it just one of the hatchlings looks miami or is it all that have hatched so far?
Main reason I ask is that in addition to what everyone said above about confirming whether the snakes are hypo is the potential factor of which hypo it is.
I know there are a few different hypo traits out there and as far as I know they are all non compatible. So if all or part of the clutch looks miami you could have either parents that are homozygous for different forms of hypo or one parent homozygous for one type of hypo but the second parent het for that same type of hypo but homozygous for another type of hypo.
Anyways I'm no expert but I thought I'd throw those possibilities out there. Knowing how many of the clutch ended up looking hypo versus not looking hypo would help alot also.

Hey Jeff, I am definitly not close to being an expert but I asked a similar question about the differences in hypo miamis and crimson corns once and even emailed the question to Rich Z and Don Soderberg. One interesting response was that it could be you have crimsons that where each made using non compatible hypo's. Meaning that one crimson was made using the traditional "hypo" and the other was made using "hypo B" so that when these two are bred together you get all normal looking (in this case miami phase) het for both forms of hypo.
