Ok here it goes guys and girls...

This is a snake(BP) my third cousin i see like once every blue moon bought. I wish i could of been there to help her find a good one or assist in set up but i was never told. She just called me tonight.

My best guess is the unknown sex ball python is 3-4 months old. She was told from this pet store it was, and i quote what she told me "Hand fed". So worse case it was force fed or better case assisted. Either way its not good.

Now here is the bad part. According to her it hasn't eaten in 1-1.5 months. Which at this age is bad in my eyes. I've had balls fast for 10 months but never this young. I've housed balls and other more exotic snakes for over 7 years now.

It seems free weak and lacking energy. Probably also stressed but idk. I just got him/her tonight. I have a plan of care but i want to see what you all think. I've only rescued one snake before but it wasn't this young.

The snake cage set-up she told me about seemed fine for a young ball python and shouldn't be the cause of stress.

Thoughts or comments?? I've given you all the information I could get out of her so you know as much as I do without a picture. But my camera is broken.

Thanks

Inspection of the snake for ticks and other creatures, i notice a lump near and just at the rear vent. seems to be something solid in there like a non-digested bone. But it totally looks like it is ready to poop but a warm bath and massage didnt encourage any release.

Does the snake have a lot of skin folded or hanging off the sides? Soaking it is good, I would set it up, How are you doing that? It depends from here on the condiotions of the snake and set up, if it really looks skinny and it is young, I would set it up leave it be for at least a few days, offer a live fuzzy if it takes that I would wait 4to 5 days offer another and eventually after a few meals up it to a small mouse. If it does not take the fuzzy I would assist feed if it is real skinny. Really need to know what it is looking like.
