Can you take snakes on a plane?

toyota85 Aug 08, 2007 11:48 PM

I am going to be flying down to cali this weekened from vegas and may be picking up one hatchling king/corn snake. Anyways I was wondering what are the chances of the airlines letting me board with it? can I put it in my carry on luggage? or my check luggage? My flight will only be like 40 minutes. Does anyone have any experiance with this? Or am I going to have to just ship it instead? Anyhelp would be appreciated. Thanks

There was a similar kingsnake thread somewhere in the forums, but I can't find it... Anyway, a person cut and pasted policy from all the US airlines. None of them said it was ok to bring reptiles into the plane. Double check with the airlines if you need to.

With the recent publicity that monkey on the plane got, I'd really suggest not trying to sneak it on.
