Need info on breeding kingsnakes

madroxninja Feb 07, 2003 09:21 AM

I have a female cal-king and I might get a male at the expo in april. I was wondering if anyone knew where a good breeding "recipe" page or link was.

Any input is very much appreciated.

Thank you
Paris

There are a number of excellent books on the subject. You can also check the caresheets section on kingsnake.com (look in the small type at the top of this page, for example). Among them are two specific pages that might address your needs:

king and milk care

and this one:

multiple references

in that latter group, steve osborne's article on breeding colubrid snakes would surely be helpful.

good luck! check out those books, too--other than avoiding cannabilistic behavi9or, the principles for breeding your kings is pretty much the same as for other colubrids--red rats, etc. So read red rat care books, "snake" care books, etc., you'll pick up useful info from each and all of them.
