First clutch pics!

phiber_optikx Aug 09, 2007 12:18 AM

Only 2 out and 1 1/2 more pippies so far. What is the norm for the rest of the clutch to pip? I say 1/2 because one made small slits but didn't look like it made it through the egg all the way so I slit it just a few mm. Here a a few quick pics I snapped. Not the best because I didn't want to disturb anyone too much.

congrats on your first babies!!!
I usually give my snakes about 48 hours after the first pip, to make slits in the eggs of the rest.
good luck on the rest

How much do you slit them? Just a few mm or about 1"?

enough for the baby to get its nose through, if need be. So, the width of a hatchling head.
