Eggs soon to hatch!!

KingCobra Aug 09, 2007 02:31 AM

Another week or two and my GB gopher snakes should be hatching from their eggs with my clutch of racer eggs soon to follow.

I have eight gopher eggs and seven racer eggs- all of which look to be doing rather well. The racer eggs have developed mold growth on frequently, but I have carefully wiped the mold from the eggs as needed.

Here is a picture of one of the gopher eggs 52 days from being layed:

Yeah, ditto what Funky said. Any locale info on the parents also? GB's are one of my fave Gopher ssp. Best of luck w/ the egg.

I don't have any pictures of the mother or father. Every year I manage to catch one or two snakes with eggs. Shortly after the eggs were layed, I got the mother back up to strength and released her. The mother was about 3 1/2 to 4 feet long, but I have no idea what the father looks like.

I will definitely post some pis of the babies when they hatch.

Where'd you catch her? What locale?

oh, yeah I can give ya the location of where I found her. It was at the foot of the mountains on somebody's yard where they were doing some landscaping. They told me I could have any snakes I find in their yard, and that I could look any time.
They actually spotted here in some large rocks by their driveway.

I found her in the city that I live in which is Brigham City, which is in Box Elder County. I also found the racer here in Box Elder.
