indoor pond filtration

proudresmomof4 Aug 19, 2003 09:08 PM

I own a fluval 404 for a 55 gallon tank. Recently I bought a 125 gallon garden preformed pon (the shape is the bermuda for anyone familiar)I will be using this indoors and sitting it on the ground. Sine the 404 needs to be below the water to work, what is a good filter I can use for my indoor pond.

There's some pretty good deals on wet/dry filters on ebay. That's really what you need for a pond that size.

But for the time being, you can probably use the Fluval on it. I don't think they really have to be below the tank. Granted, you don't want to put it on a shelf near the ceiling either though.

Im curious, is a preformed pond stable when its full and not in the ground? Im pretty sure theyre designed to be in a hold with the earth to support the weight, but Ive never tried filling one up above ground.

We saw quite a few set up with fountains and fish and filtration in the store we looked in near us..... all they did was support the basking areas which is what we r gonna do
