Metallic rat snake follow up

>Anyone out there have pics from Bairdi that they have purchased from Vivid? He's asking some serious money for his line of offspring. I'm just kind of curious how they turn out for you folks that have purchased some.
>>

Yours is the first screamer(pardon the term)that Ive seen.Do you have any pics in natural light? Thanks.>

This is not the best pic, as this guy doesn't get out much, and he really wanted to cruise up that orange tree.

As to the post on the "metallic" descriptor making good ad copy: I do have to hand it to Vivid for that adjective. While the bairdi in the pic is not a Vivid animal, the gray coloration on the scales has a distinctly brushed metal look. It's definitely different than any other snake I've ever seen. Metallic is really the best way to describe the appearance.

I will be bringing this guy up to Daytona while attending the expo(no table......just visiting). I have to show him off to a few "Texas boys" on what "Florida Bairdi" look like.....heheheh!

That really is a great looking snake. As mentioned in our phone conversation, I too want to know how true the Vivid "metallics" breed. The ones on his site sure look great. On a side note the Jani is doing well on his first night in his new pad. Thanks!

Alton........Glad to hear he is doing well. He will soon become one of your favorites. Every time he sheds going into his second year, that adult coloration will really begin to blossom. You will look forward to these shedding cycles.

Steve, do you know the lines your came from? I would guess it was from the old adam Block lines. He had bred a mexican bairds into some female texas animals and created some awesome offspring and sold them for several years.

Looks great bud,

Shannon...........I purchased this snake as a hatchling from Rick Elfvin who was getting out of colubrids to get more involved with Ball Pythons. He also had the parents for sale. Since they looked decently attractive, I took the plunge and picked out a baby from the bunch. Keep in mind that being a Florida boy, I had not seen that many Bairdi, so my experience was limited as to what constituted a really good one. Since then, I have realized that this snake was a most fortuitous purchase. The only story I got out of him was his breeders' were from "northern Mexico" stock. I do indeed remember that sharp male that Adam Block used to advertise his line of Bairdi. I seem to remember that he stopped working with Bairdi, and that sharp male was purchased by someone.

That's a very healthy looking Mexican Baird's that you have there. The first one of those I ever saw in person was this really large one that Alan Kardon had at the Orlando expo back in '99. Is yours from that line?

Steve,
this male is actually a w/c (1985) animal from steve Hammock.
