female EBT

golfdiva Aug 09, 2007 08:42 PM

Late this morning, DH and I were driving down the road near our home. DH said, "oh, there's a turtle!" and he stopped the car. (He's well trained, he knows if there is a turtle near the road he needs to stop! lol!) I hopped out of the car and helped it across the street. She was a huge, beautiful female. She was bigger than my hand, and had lots beautiful bright yellow coloring. She appeared to be healthy with no sign of disease or injury. I let her go in a bunch of weeds along side the road and she went on her way.

I'm sorry I didn't have a camera with me, but I wanted to tell this story to some people who would understand its significance! lol!

Good to hear we have some good healthy eastern box turtles around here!

(Bill, who lives in the same county as golfdiva)

Cool! Do you really live near here? If so, you will be glad to know that this a.m. we found yet another EBT crossing the road! A male this time, not so far from the first. He too looked healthy and uninjured. Nice colors also!

Didn't we talk about this before? You said you live in Lowell, and I live in the GR suburb of Wyoming. Maybe you didn't catch I changed my screenId to from "biowarble" to "chelonian71".
