In my opinion the black pastel x pastel makes a better pewter.

I tend to agree. Here is a pic of my black pastel male that I got more than 1 year ago from Oz that was bred to a very light female Graziani pastel. The pairing produced the sweetest pewters and black pastels I've seen . . . but then again, I'm sure I'm biased.
