Hi Kody. I know you have asked this question a few times before and there have been replies with links to info. about breeding tegus. I don't believe there is much (any?) captive breeding activity going on with the Colombians since they are still being imported cheaply in mass numbers. That's why you can buy a gold or black and white Colombian for around $35. For the most part, I believe most of us here are just hobbyists, but try agamainternational.com or bluetegu.com for general information on tegus. As far as specific information about breeding, your best bet is to reasearch the heck out of their natural history - gather all the information you can get your hands on about their geographical range(s,)preferred habitats, diets in the wild, photoperiods, temperature ranges, rainfall averages, wet and dry seasons, etc. Then find out about the breeding activities/rituals, nesting habits, incubation period and conditions, etc. and attempt to duplicate that as best you can and see what happens. Try and find any field studies done on these guys and couple that with the geographical information from their ranges and you should be able to come up with a plan for breeding. Then start with the best possible stock as the basis for your breeding group and introduce them into your reproduced conditions and hope for the best. This, of course, is all just the tip of the iceberg, but this is what Bert from Agama International did when he set about his breeding project for his Argentines, only he went one step further and actually studied and videotaped them in the wild. As anyone familiar with tegus knows, his plan worked and he is arguably the most succesful, tegu breeder in the States if not the world. Good luck, and who knows, maybe you'll be the first pioneer in breeding dog tame, hand-raised Colombians!
