15 qt. feeding

RussellLe Aug 10, 2007 06:02 PM

I have a 2300 gram female she was being kept in my CB-70 rack, Hot Spot was 91 cool area was 82 with a ND of 10 degrees. Humidity is 60. Well I've had her now for about two months, and she wont eat a thing. Then I tried putting her in a 15 qt. tub and now she is pounding these rats down. Anyone else exp. this behavior?! Is she too cramped or is it okay. I know they live out in small burrows in the wild so maybe im just worrying too much, but just want to hear other opinions. Thank You.

If she's eating, I would leave her where she is.

Are you sure you know what a 15qt tub is? It's like 11x16". When I weigh my big females they barely fit in the 15qt tub I use.

Try putting a hidebox in the CB-70. A small cat litter pan works great. I don't know how you have a big female living in a 15qt tub. Where do you put the water dish? lol

LoL, sorry I meant it as I only feed her in the 15 qt. Yes I know how big a 15 qt. tub is, she has a hide in the cb-70. She just wont eat in it. Only when she goes into really tight quarters, I dont know why. I know they live in small burrows in the wild but when eating they are normally in a open area am i wrong?! Just really seemed odd to me.

Just a suggestion. Try a tighter hide, in the CB70. It makes them feel more secure. I have all my big girls in CB70's and they all eat great. Hope this helps.
