giant mad. hog bite

cochran Aug 11, 2007 09:45 AM

I was bitten by my fem. giant mad. hog last night. It was so hot in the reptile room,it seemed like everything I fed had a ravenous appetite. My male simus even ate his first unscented pinky. The pic with blood was taken within seconds,I washed my hand immediately and 30 min. later, just a little itchy.

Mine has never done anything more than bluff a little bit, although he still hisses sometimes. This must have been a complete suprise to you, since they are more bluff than bite. Did he get to chew at all, or was it a bite and release?

I in no way took this as a defensive bite. She is normally a sweety but,it was really hot in the room, every critter I fed that night had a quicker than normal response to food. She released her bite, almost like she knew what happened. Take care! Jeff
