Hi All,
Darwin - 2 1/2 year old beardie in bath, swimming, then dump out 1/2 water for soak and drink from his misty mate. This is typical bath time scenario. When he has enough I take him out but he went limp and closed his eyes - scared the crap out of me! I got him up and moving, then tipped him head down to keep any (more) water out of his lungs. Of course he was not happy about that. He is now perched on my chest and keeps puffing out his belly (like the float bloat) and taking deep breaths (mouth closed) puffing his beard on exhales. Every now and then he will open his mouth and release or take in air. Neither of my vets are available. he does not seem in distress, but I remember reading somewhere about someone who had a similar situation and found their bd dead the next day.
One note, his beard was very dark earlier but now is getting back to normal and there are no wheezing or gurgling sounds. This has all happened in the last 1/2 hour (1pm EST).
Should I be nervous? If he seems better IS he better? Any advice appreciated.
thanks,
lele
