Hey, kingfolk,
If one was theoretically going to ship a large king, at what temperature range would you suggest a cold pack.
As it looks, this theoretical shipment would take place in a temperature range of 82* to possibly 88*.
Thanks!

To be safe you should always plan for the worst. At 88 degrees i would either use a cool pack or wait till the temps drop to ship out the package (theoretically)..

Thanks, Mike--I'll go with the cold pack. that is, if I were shipping
.
Well make sure you have it timed to be in the hot weather as little as possible. That is, drop off the latest you can to get there the earliest as you can.
FedEx delivery should be from business to business or to and from from a FedEx staffed facility. That way it is not in a hot van too long if at all. Or on a doorstep in the heat.
Still, I would use a cool pack of sorts. Even a frozen sponge placed in a Ziploc can work wonders in a well insulated box.

Thanks, Mark. I do have the instant cold-packs, just wasn't sure if it was necessary at these temps.
The instant cold packs stay cold for but so long... i suggest using the Gel packs... a well frozen one can keep a well insulated box cool for a much long period of time.
if u have lots of shipping to do, u can buy a big cold pack and some ziplock bags and make lots of smaller cold packs...

you can priority overnight to a destinations fed ex office and have the reciever p/up from their facility to avoid van delivry so ship late in the afternoon, 6:30 pm is dead line at my local facility and SHOULD be at destination office at 8 ish
Ya thats what i do in hot weather. Just ask for the locale Fed Ex office address from the buyer and make sure the fed ex people on your end (sender end) put a orange HOLD sticker on the box. Its amazing but sometimes these boxes with the locale office address still get thrown in the deleivery truck. Best to make sure you have that "hold at Fed Ex Center" sticker on there.

"Yeah ya told me, and ya wrote it down too. But how the hell am I supposed to remember!"
There is a place for the address of the facility and there's a box to check-off as well.
According to the terms/agreement this is the way it is supposed to go anyway. No home deliveries.
Of course, people do it but I'd rather not.
