Carpondro on eggs....27 look good

jaykis Aug 11, 2007 09:40 PM

Yasser has seen pics of my female Carpondro, and unfortunately the pics need to be put on my main computer for show here, but she's almost 7' and 10 lbs. Very light green, looks like a reverse photo image of a JCP. I got her late in the breeding season, but the male JCP latched onto her early and often for almost a month.

She was obviously gravid, and last night/this morning she laid about 6-8 slugs and about 27 good eggs. They are smaller than Coastals, about the size of IJ carpets. I put them in the incubator. Eggs are about 1 3/4" long. I'm hoping they're fertile and viable. Daddy to my animal was GTP, and mother was a JCP. Wish me luck, as she is a striking animal. Head is green, yellow, and white w/black eyes. Will post pics when I can.

All the best with the Carpondro eggs and please post when you have babies !! With 27 viable eggs, your chances are good.

cheers, John

To the best of my knowledge, they do not produce viable young. It's always been assumed that the would have to be mated back to one of the parent stock.
