I just recently took in a rescue w/two abcessess, one on each side of her face, between the eye and the top jaw. She has been to the vet, who says they are filled with solid pus, so they can't be drained, must be surgically removed. Antibiotics don't seem to be reducing the swelling at all. Vet does not know what caused it, but thinks they may be impacted salivary glands. I'm just looking for some 2nd opinions before I OK the $200 surgery. As a breeder, I'm also wondering what the chances of a genetic component might be?
