Hi i have a male speckled that has been in cap for about a year now.I have always had no problem feeding him f/t mice.A couple of months agao he started only taking live.No he hasnt feed in 2 months his weight is fine.Any ideas how to get him feeding again.If i have to resort to toads or frogs which ones are safe 4 him thanks a lot shaun t

Could he be in hibernation?Do not feed fire belly or ornate(please excuse the spelling) or bull frogs.Use toads from what I have been told.Also,you can try split braining the pinky/mouse.That is where you take a knife and cut a slit in the head of the feeder.Thean get a little brain matter/Fluid showing.Pleae do not use the knife for humans afterwords.
Where is a speckled from?

My tri-color is on a feeding strike- his last meal was June 1st. He's as active as ever! Luckily, I have a back up snake that eats the same size prey, so his mouse doesn't get wasted. It's pretty aggravating, though.
