sichuan province mandarin with eggs

RandyWhittington Aug 12, 2007 02:35 PM

This clutch caught me by suprise. I didn't think she was due yet and didn't even have a egg box in with her. She only laid 4 but they all look good. Randy W.

Wow she looks tiny.... I had no idea how small they were! I am assuming she is on the small side for an adult mandarin?

She is not that small. She is about 3 ft. Randy

Ahh okay... I have never seen a mandarin in person... I thought they were larger than that. Do most stay between 3-4ft?

3ft is probably the average. A 4ft adult is a big mandarin. Randy

Best regards

No that was another female that I got form Karl. She wasn't a real good feeder when young so she is still quite small. Here she is. Randy

Beautiful Randy!
Congrats on the eggs! I had the same surprise last month from a very similar looking female. Unfortunately, my best breeder----large clutches the last 4 years----apparently didn't feel like breeding, since she would have laid by now.

Those snakes are amazing looking .
I saw one in a reptile show but I know they are delicate and like it cool.
with my ac its 65 and I read they need it even cooler few months a year in Florida thats not possible except for few cold days in winter.
