Help I have a Pixi that wont eat rodents.I want to try worms
but am affraid that if I get Something from a bait supplier they will be tainted by pesticides in the soil.Can some one please help.Crickets To me just are not enough for this big guy.

Mealwaorms, superworms, etc. Get them from a pet store or reptile show, or an online worm dealer and they should be pesticide free.

Breeding mealworms is very easym and the adult ones just prior to molting into pupal stage are pretty big.

Superworms are a lot bigger but they're pretty expensive and a little harder to breed.

Err, that should have said
"the older ones, just prior to pupal stage". mealworms are larva and of course could never be considered "adult".

Thank you for your help I know of those I was looking for something I little on the different side,kind of anyhow.Even the pet store I use dose not know.Her better half can find me anything but this one stumped him.He has been init for yeeeaaarrrrs.

Reptilefood.com and probably others sell red worms or nightcrawlers for herp food. I personally dig mine in the bunny mulch heap in my back yard. I have fed the 'bait' worms and not had issues. I don't think they would have tainted them in many ways. Though the local worms are collected off local gulf courses and parks....so you get the luck of the draw there too. But I have fed them to turtles too. (friend is a bait picker)
