Dumb Question...

gzyv15a Aug 13, 2007 07:38 PM

Has anyone ever bred or ever heard of a cross breeding between a BRB and a colombian boa? Can it be done? Just curious.

As far as I know it has never been done. I would imagine that it has been tried. The range of the BRB is similar to Bcc rather than Bci. I have never heard of an imported animal that looked like it might have been a cross between a Bcc and a BRB. I would guess that they are too genetically dissimilar.

Jeff already answered the possibility of a BRB x BCI cross.

I thought I'd delve into what I read as the other possible direction your question could have been meant.

I believe Brazilian Rainbow Boas have been crossed with Colombian rainbow boas. I don't know any of the specifics though.

I know of one breeder who was doing BRBxCRB and I assume it was successful.
